This was taken in Boston at Quincy Market (mmm mmm good) while Mopsy (my mom) was visiting last weekend. We had a great time playing with her, even though Sam was getting over a week long fever and double ear infection. No worries, all is well. He's doing great now! Poor kid has really had his fair share of sick days this winter/spring. Hopefully we've got smooth sailing ahead of us into the summer!
#2 This man I love, Peter, is going to be PUBLISHED!!Yep, he's a part of law review here at Roger Williams University Law School (his school, fyi). Law review is basically the organization at each law school that puts together the annual/semi-annual law article publications. It's tough to get on law review. Out of over 60-70 applicants last spring Peter was chosen to be one of 20 in his class (2nd year students). People are chosen to be on law review based on an article they write in the week after their first year finals are completed. GPA also goes into the decision making process. Well, once on law review, there is a huge research paper/legal article that each member has to write. They are allowed to choose their own topic, but they only have a certain amount of time to write it. Only 5 articles are chosen for each publication, so the chances of getting picked aren't great. Peter opted to write his last semester, to get it done! He worked really hard on it, but ultimately decided not to stress too much about it being published in the annual law review publication. He just did his best!
Well, sweetie, I never doubted you for a moment! I had it in the back of my head all along, "It just seems like it'll happen. He'll come home one day and tell me his article was chosen." Exactly. Two days ago he came home to tell me that his article will be published in the national publication!! That means more work to tidy it up and get all his citations perfect, etc... Summer time committments... Did I mention that this article is over 30 pages long? Yeah, I actually read it. Ask me how much I understood... No, don't ask.
I'm so proud of him. This is a really huge accomplishment. After all, he is earning a doctorate degree right now, so I'm glad he'll have his very own article published to show for it. Can't wait to get my hands on that publication!!! Woohoo!!! Peter's just about famous I'd say.
